Félix Lajeunesse is an artisan of immersive experiences rooted in emotional connections. The places and people, he makes them meet on their immersive journeys move viewers of his experiences. Throughout his career, Félix Lajeunesse has set out to explore and give life to the creative possibilities offered by 3D, 360-degree technology, and by virtual, augmented and mixed reality cinema. His longstanding partnership with Paul Raphaël, with whom he founded Felix & Paul Studios, stems from a common vision of the construction of an immersive and visceral world. This early chemistry between the two led to the creation of the first Felix & Paul Studios camera in 2013, for the shooting of Strangers With Patrick Watson. Since then, Félix has coordinated and co-directed all of the other twenty-one virtual experiences produced by the studio. One of these, The People’s House (2017) with Barack Obama, earned them their first Emmy. This was followed by the feature film Miyubi (2017), starring Jeff Goldblum, and the documentary Space Explorers (2018), in partnership with NASA. Today, Félix Lajeunesse’s knowledge is shared across the studio with a new generation of artists and creators learning and taking inspiration from his achievements. Other projects at the studio include Traveling While Black (2019), in partnership with the Oscar-winning director Roger Ross Williams, and Gymnasia (2019) with the NFB and Clyde Henry Productions, as well as new episodes of Space Explorers set on the International Space Station. Whether he’s leading the studios or directing an experience, Félix Lajeunesse takes part in the creation in an immersive and interactive world within the context of artistic entertainment.
