The Indian attempt at a proper crime thriller just didn't work out because, with this film, you simply get the feeling that while it's heavily stylized on the one hand, on the other, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's extra gritty. It's just not like that, and it's more like a drawn-out romance, which is okay.

It's almost as if Guillermo del Toro was inspired by Cronenberg in how well he can capture insect creatures on screen. It really works, which is good because the story is very B-movie and doesn't bring anything surprising to the table. He's playing it safe, which might seem like a cop-out for such a creator, but then again, it's been a while since this film, especially for American productions, was made.

A story that has the potential for something truly atmospheric, dark, perhaps even a bit bizarre at the beginning, but in the end, it slides more towards sentimentality rather than something truly surprising. I almost regretted that it didn't have a better progression, that the finale is not as interesting as the introduction of this film.

A Czech animated short that stands out for its artwork, which at first glance is very simple, but atmospheric enough to fit the story that is being told. The story is another strong point, even in the sense of reverse chronology. The point is black-humored, which suits the film well.

Although puritans could condemn this film for unnecessarily focusing on nudity and erotic scenes, which are not overly inappropriate, it is still a movie that carries a certain message, which is not very pleasant. This is a crime and its consequences portrayed in a way that has a very dark climax.

I rate this film highly mainly because of the technology used to create it. After all, making a shot where you can look around in 360° the whole time is not that common. What makes it even more interesting is that the little film contains a story that works quite well and can get emotions out of you.

It's a terrible shame that this is mostly told in a voice we hear all the time. The animation, however, is very interesting and fun to watch. It almost has noir tendencies, thanks to the color and detail - yes color noir. But the chattiness can be almost exhausting at times and doesn't manage to pull you in that much. The animation could have done it on its own.

A Western Pixar? Without Woody? Yes, this is a story that is intended for adult viewers, a story that is actually quite rough and bloody, where the "rescue" scene is truly unpleasant and its impact on the viewer is quite intense. You could use more animated films like this, and more Westerns too.

A nice story with something to say. Again, there aren't necessarily that many cartoons that have a deeper, almost philosophical idea, but Blind Vaysha is one. A girl who sees the past with one eye and the future with the other. That in itself is a good idea. But then there's the finale, which goes a little deeper, to the point of being expected.

I'm almost tempted to say that this is a TV movie about a camp where kids bond together. But this film goes a little further and shows the power of growing up in its intimate form. It's not an unnecessarily explicit film, which is probably a good thing in this case, but it still shows how early sexuality awakens in us.
