Necrotongue

Richard Curtis has a truly distinctive style, but this time it wasn't all that fun with him. I wish I could give five stars to a film starring my favorite Bill Nighy, but although the filmmakers managed to create a pleasantly relaxing atmosphere. The romantic and touching moments far outbalanced the funny ones, verging on pathos at times, which was a disappointment. What I think the film needed was a quicker pace and a good dose of English humor. I would have added a star or two in that case.

The doctor once again had enough space for the expression of their empathetic self, which is always the right way for me to be satisfied. The further course confirmed my opinion that from time to time controlled shooting of snobbish fools should be allowed, which could potentially be replaced by forced sterilization, for the protection of the gene pool of all humanity.

I liked the film much to my own surprise. I originally didn't even want to see it because I just can’t stand Jack Black. I try to avoid him like the plague, but this time I actually didn't mind him at all. I liked the story as well as the characters, and the plot had the right amount of action and comedy. Anyway, I preferred the jungle storyline to the real-world one. I don't think I will get the romantic Dwayne Johnson out of my head anytime soon.

Far from great. The main character was unlikeable beyond belief, and there wasn’t a trace of a horror atmosphere. I decided to think of it as a student romantic comedy, and it worked quite well for me that way. As is typical for such films, I had a chance to see how much an average anorexic American woman can take, so I got to see her get up after a beating that would take down many a professional boxer, but I guess it kind of goes with the genre.

Apparently, I am not enough of an intellectual to be able to enjoy this film. There was some occasional humor here and there (with emphasis on the word occasional), a few scenes got me interested, but the rest of it felt dull and dragged on like the week before payday.

This was an exemplary example of pretending to make fun of oneself to divert attention from the fact that the excellent show gradually turned into a pile of warm intestinal waste. I secretly hope that the creators of the show have ended it with this episode to prevent unnecessary violence against innocent humor.

No, it is certain now, the creators of Frosty Secrets are on the verge of freezing. It seems they had already ventured out of the best and I think it is time to end the whole project before it reaches the "level" of TV Barrandov's production. Nevertheless, I found a positive moment in the sixth episode, immortal Horst Fuchs delighted me and made me reminisce about the golden era of teleshopping in the nineties.

It's a shame that the creators didn't manage to liven up the film. Otherwise, it had a great retro vibe, typical Coenesque violence and black humor. They could have done much better. I got a bit bored in places and the incorporation of the black family's problems into the story seemed completely unnecessary. Apart from that, I was quite satisfied, and I had a decent laugh.

I'm giving the film one star for Denzel Washington's performance, and the other one for the fact that there were a few moments that got me intrigued (namely three). I wonder why such an incredibly boring screenplay was written, why it was turned into an incredibly boring film, why the film has a two-hour running time, and why I wasted those two hours watching it. I don't think even Mulder and Scully could figure that out for me.

I was slightly apprehensive about this film. I don't like furious feminists or die-hard chauvinists, just like any other type of fanatics. I was relieved to find out that the filmmakers didn't push the theme too hard, which I really appreciated. On the other hand, I felt the film lacked plot at times and I was slightly bored. Anyway, I would definitely highlight the acting performances of Steve Carell and Emma Stone.
