angielski Enola washes her blue stockings and throws herself back into solving detective stories and defending women's rights. I like how this girl talking to the viewer through the broken fourth wall more than in part one. The story is tighter and more believable. Enola is more mature and therefore has calmed down a bit. Not enough to bore, and she has enough firepower left to entertain. The movie makes no secret of the fact that it is primarily intended for teenage girls, as someone to lean on and to some extent as a role model. Why on earth not? We have seen heaps of boy rascals, but girls don't have that many rascal heroines to identify with. IN A NUTSHELL: Sometimes a strike of a match can start a fire that just keeps burning. ()

angielski The second adventure of Enola Holmes follows almost exactly in the footsteps of its two-year-old predecessor, though it perhaps tries to be even more feminist, which I personally didn't mind. For two hours (but a hundred minutes would have sufficed) you are immersed in a world of detectives, matching and dances, and self-defence lessons - a world of men in which women want to be heard. I liked the crime plot, as well as the participation of Moriarty, although his entrance on the scene will certainly leave a bitter taste in many a viewer's mouth. The ending leaves the door open for a sequel, but I think it could have been a bit darker. ()

angielski Quite alright. Basically, it’s like the first one, only that the case is more tangled with Sherlock’s. Cavill plays a drunken Holmes and Enola discovers that being alone is not a good thing. The shocking casting twists aren't that surprising, because Black lives matter, just maybe if the shock at the end didn't stand on that alone. Enola misses much more than the viewer. The strike at the factory is great, at least we know why all factories are facing automation. ()

angielski If you liked the first film, you'll like the second one, and if you didn't like the first one, you'd better not watch the second one and spare the world your whatever-phobic crap. Everyone will be better off, because this enjoyable adventure flick is far from silly, and the intriguing plot based on a true story pulls it forward as much as Millie Bobby Brown's infectious hyperactivity, Henry Cavill's likeable brooding, Harry Bradbeer's brisk direction, and Daniel Pemberton's even brisker score. If the film was a bit shorter, it would probably be even better, but otherwise there's not much to complain about. ()
