Podczas panowania Juliusza Cezara, kiedy większość mieszkańców Ziemi była przekonana, że ich planeta jest płaska niczym pizza, republika rzymska władała dużą częścią tego smakowitego placka. Tylko jedna mała wioska Galów stała na drodze do całkowitego zwycięstwa. Jej mieszkańcy za nic mieli sobie legiony Cezara. Ich druid Panoramix ważył bowiem magiczny napój dający nadludzką siłę i energię. Dzięki niemu Galowie byli niezwyciężeni, niezmordowani i zdaniem Cezara nieznośni. Wpadł więc na pomysł, by pozbyć się druida i jego magicznego napoju raz na zawsze. Wysłał jednego ze swoich senatorów, by porwał Panoramixa i wywiózł go na koniec świata. Nie wziął jednak pod uwagę, że na ratunek druidowi pośpieszą dzielny Asterix i silny (bo jako dziecko wpadł do garnka z napojem magicznym) Obelix. Popłyną za nim na koniec świata, a przy okazji… odkryją nowy nieznany ląd, który na pierwszy rzut oka wygląda całkiem obiecująco. (Entclick)

I consider this installment in the Asterix cartoon series comparable to its predecessors and successor. It’s got everything, including pirates and an argument over fish, and Asterix's adventures with other cultures are not out of place in terms of innovation. Sometimes I'd like to see his trip to Spain in a movie, for example. Overall, I have no problem with this "problematic" piece.

As it's been mentioned here a few times, this episode is really the worst of the lot. It desperately lacks the imaginative Asterix humour that so adorned the forays into Egypt and Britain. Everything is presented terribly dry and without much inspiration. Fortunately, Asterix and Obelix are such likeable characters that neither the boring direction nor the absolutely terrible Czech dubbing can sink their adventure completely.

Asterix, who is already quite strange to me. The story tries to be really crazy, to make it seem like a great idea, but it's simply absurd and also cliché. One character in the story - and it's a Roman - says that without the potion, the Gallic village would be nothing. Well, let's face it, it's true. Without Asterix, Obelix, Panoramix, and Dogmatix, the village is really just a terrible collection of characters. And I've seen it in a disgusting Czech dubbing as well.
