Intrigues, scheming and moves on an imaginary chessboard. It slightly starts to catch the mores of classic series, i.e. to put the key twist in the last shot, but surprisingly it doesn't lose its pull and you want to know more about the characters.

The pace of the second episode compared to the first part may have slowed down, but the plot clearly depicts the differences between the Stark and Lannister families and introduces a larger portion of intrigue and manipulation for the first time. Paradoxically, a hired assassin injects some life into the events at Winterfell, and Cersei's motives are clarified in her conversation with her son. This episode also reminded me of how annoying I found Lady Catelyn years ago, but my relationship with her has remained completely unchanged over time.
