It's a traditionally unorthodox Fulci. It's not as gritty as you might wish overall, but it's also not as entertaining as the creators would have you believe. In the end, it's not so much about giallo as it is about a haunted house, which might have a somewhat unexpected outcome that could be seen as unsatisfying by some viewers. Personally, I like the combination of gritty horror with a family-friendly film, it's just not executed to perfection. ()
