Tylko ktoś o szlachetnym sercu zdoła wyciągnąć miecz z kamienia. Wielu już próbowało, więc dlaczego miałoby się to udać zwykłemu giermkowi, którego zwą Pryszcz? A może z pomocą czarnoksiężnika chłopak zostanie najwspanialszym angielskim królem? (Disney+)

I had the picture book when I was little, but I never watched the Disney original until today. Well, it is considerably better, full of action, and uncut. Merlin is more of a mad time traveller than the legendary wizard, and his talking owl has more sense than him. I enjoyed going back to my childhood, and I think I'll start digging up other treasures tucked away in compartments of childhood memories for my little one. ()
The Sword in the Stone is a somewhat forgotten Disney film, which is a real shame, as it is a rather humorous take on the legend of Arthur and Merlin, which surprised me very pleasantly. The character of Merlin was hilariously distracted, while Arthur was more of a naive coward, though both had their hearts in the right place, as did the spiky-eyed Archimedes. I was very amused by the episodes with the squirrels and the desperately hungry wolf, who had similar bad luck to the Coyote with the Roadrunner. I must also not fail to mention the magical battle between Merlin and Madam Mim, which was really imaginative. The musical score was also good. ()
