A girl’s delusion and reality are disrupted in a rich-colored and fantastic world. Sion Sono will create an anarchistic, radical, beautiful and controversial film that destroys the wall of the expression in his quest to freedom.
A 21-year-old Kyoko is an up-and-coming artist filled with self-confidence. She often falls in to a slump and takes her frustration out on a 36-year-old assistant, Noriko, while overstating her creativity and artistry. Kyoko behaves like an absolute “queen” and humiliates Noriko sexually in front of staff. "Cut!", someone says suddenly. It is actually a filming location. Just then, it is Noriko that begins to berate Kyoko in violent terms. Noriko is well-experienced actress in reality. Their relationship between “a queen and a slave” is totally reversed. One film is shot within a film; another film is shot within the film, like a matrioshka. Sono expresses the reversing truth/falsity and strength/weakness through its subtle plot and the repeated descriptions of a disgraceful sex.
