Qing ya ji

A visually grand fantasy film from China that captivates with beautiful visual effects and decent action, but unfortunately not enough of it. I really don't understand why fantasy with demons has to focus 80% on character development and an uninteresting story. Drama prevails, which is a shame. The finale is quite epic, the demonic snake looks beautiful, but it's disappointing that the protagonist is just standing in the background, not doing anything and letting others do the work for him, which seemed quite strange to me.
