Kraina jutra (2015)

angielski If I have to sit in the cinema for almost two and a quarter hours for a story with boring characters, boring twists and an ending that doesn't make much sense, it would be nice if there was at least something to watch. But there's only about fifteen minutes of Tomorrowland in total. The rest of it is mostly driving an old car around the countryside and babbling about nothing. This was probably meant to be a family film for everyone, but nobody will like it.

Mad Max: Na drodze gniewu (2015)

angielski Every year I see dozens of films in the cinema and many more at home, and only some of the new ones leave me with the feeling that I've watched something special; something that will be talked about in ten years. Fortunately, Mad Max: Fury Road is one of those. The trailers didn't bullshit, this is a brutal action ride from start to finish. When George Miller said his film was going to be one big chase, he wasn't lying. Even more interesting than the action itself, however, which is exquisite, thrilling and visually original, is what surrounds it. The director of Happy Feet has managed to make a new Mad Max that must satisfy fans of the trilogy and newcomers alike. Fury Road is an almost physically uncomfortable film. Whereas other post-apocalyptic films usually have clearly defined good and evil, here there is only madness, and thanks to some of the characters (Nicholas Hoult gets a career-best role) it's almost palpable. It's a cruel world with bizarre rules, fascinating and repulsive at the same time. Good doesn't exist, evil doesn't exist either, all that's left is a fierce fight for survival. And you will be right in the middle of it. Mad Max grabs you at the beginning, then thrills you, disgusts you, horrifies you and fascinates you all the time. And by the end of it, you'll feel like you've seen something special. Not just entertaining or interesting, but truly exceptional.

Infini (2015)

angielski A little bit of Alien, a little bit of The Thing, a little bit of Event Horizon, and a little bit of Pandora. Throw in mediocre actors, boring characters and a hackneyed finale, and it adds up to a barely average sci-fi with solid visuals, but one that gets boring before any really interesting things can happen.

Loft (2014)

angielski A failed attempt at modern Hitchcock, with so many shocking twists and turns that halfway through I didn't really care whether the chick from Transformers was killed off by Dredd, Cyclops, young Scofield, Cameron from Modern Family or the Belgian whose last name I can't spell.

Kocham Cię, tylko daj mi spokój! (2014)

angielski Maybe when I'm sixty, I will like these conservatively boring comedies about smug Frenchmen, flooded bathrooms and nervous wives and lovers. But probably not.

Les Miserables. Nędznicy (2012)

angielski Three hours of singing about how people have a hard life or how they're not loved. The camera's ten inches from their faces and it's raining. Three hours!

Mroczne cienie (2012)

angielski Meaningless bullshit whose characters act like complete idiots to a man. Or the director is an idiot. Either way, I never want to see anything from Tim Burton again in my life and I hope he's making Viagra commercials for the rest of his life.

The Horseman (2008)

angielski A wonderfully gritty, dirty and minimalist revenge flick with a typically nasty Australian vibe. Yes, I enjoyed it.

Jak wytresować smoka (2010)

angielski Leave the little kids at home, take the bigger ones to the cinema and they’ll leave you alone until Christmas. A great adventure flick without annoying cheerful characters, with top action and a dragon that everyone would like to have at home.

Dzielny Despero (2008)

angielski Unlike his colleagues, this mouse with big ears is not afraid of cats and wants to rescue princesses. Unfortunately, he lacks charm, wit and humor and reminds you of the little boy who used to go to primary school with you, always sitting in the first row, always raising his hand and helping the teacher carry the notebooks. He's an annoying brat that nobody likes. Like this movie.
